Pastor’s Corner

“The Lord has shown great things in and through out our lives, let’s continue to move forward, serving Him, dying to self and putting on Christ.”

Pastor David is currently the senior Pastor here at Living Way where he teaches Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings and the Wednesday night bible studies. Come and grow, learn and hear what the Lord has for all of us.

Pastor David and his wife Bianca have three children; Joseph, Adriana and David jr. Mr. and Mrs. Zamora have a lot to be thankful for. They were both drug addicts at young ages and God restored them. Pastor Dave is the Chaplain for the Fontana Parole Office, the very same office he was discharged from! Which was directly located across the street from the church. As Pastor Dave says, “it’s interesting where the Lord will place you.” Also, they work with men’s homes.  Pastor Dave received the Hispanic Heritage award in 2007 from Congressmen Joe Baca, San Bernardino District supervisor Josie Gonzalez, Senator Gloria Negrete McLeod and also from Assembly woman Wilma Carter for his involvement in the community. Recently he received a certificate of rehabilitation from the same court house that had sentenced him in the past, also, his criminal record is going up for a full governor’s pardon.

“It is no secret what God can do!”

Pastor David’s Testimony

“Hello and God bless,

My name is David Zamora. What the Lord has done in my life, He has done in many others. I hope and pray as you read this, it will encourage you to seek the Lord even further! For sake of space, I will give a brief testimony of where I was and where the Lord has me now.

I came from a dysfunctional home; my father was an alcoholic and abusive toward us all, both physically and mentally. At the age of eight my parents divorced after 21 years of marriage. I can remember it didn’t really bother me, I was just happy to be out of that situation. My mother raised us in church so we were very familiar with prayer, seeking the Lord in time of fear and need. By the time I was nine years old I remember my older brother gave me some marijuana and I got high for the first time. He was two years older. From that point on drugs were a big part of my life. Meth, heroin, cocaine, and p.c.p, although my drug of choice was meth.

Before I reached my teen years I was involved in gang activity, mainly due to the fact that I had quite a few relatives who were gang members and dealers. Neither of my parents were involved, my father was a hard worker and made good money and my mother was a Christian woman. They taught us that work was important, but like most young males I needed to find out for myself. For the next 12 yrs of my life it was about drugs, gangs, institutions and finally to state prison. I was in a boy’s ranch and six different correctional facilities in the state of California and one in Texas. My life was a mess after paroling from prison, I realized I needed change. I received my second strike (Felony) my last prison term. Some one told me about the God of my childhood and I knew that’s what I needed. By the time I was 21 yrs old I gave my life to the Lord and my life has changed so much through the grace of God and His love that He freely gives.

Most people think that God is for weak people, but I will tell you today that’s far from the truth. Jesus gave His life, so that we might have life more abundantly and that’s exactly what happened. A man told me; “If there was one thing you could have removed from your life what would it be?” I said; “This drug addiction.” He said; “Then ask the Lord to take it from you! and if He would,  will you serve Him?” I said, “I will serve you if you took it from me!”

I was tired of being a drug addict so you know what I did. I prayed. My prayer was simply this “God if You are the God of the bible and the God that this man say’s You are, and the God that my mom say’s that You are then take this drug addiction away from me. If You cannot then I don’t need You in my life and I will die a drug addict. But if You do take it from me I will serve You the rest of my life.” And I didn’t even say amen but I will tell you I never touched another needle since! I was free for the first time in years and I’ve been free ever since.
